SOUTHPORT, England - South African Branden Grace created golf history on Saturday by shooting the first round of 62 at a men's major championship, at the British Open. In the 442nd major championship, Grace achieved what the greats of the game could not in 157 years of trying and cracked the previous best of 63, which had been achieved 31 times. Grace, ranked 35th in the world, made eight birdies in his bogey-free, eight-under-par third round at the par-70 Royal Birkdale course.
FARGO - Four friends woke up Saturday morning, July 15, in hopes of striking gold and finding the third and final coin worth $500 in the Northern Plains Coin Hunt. Erica Clark of Dilworth said she along with Jocelyn Dubbels of Dilworth, Chris Clark of Hibbing and Wyatt Whiteaker of Moorhead started out on their search shortly after receiving the Forum newspaper about 3 a.m. Upon seeing the first clue in Saturday's Forum — "I'm far from tropical, but there are similarities" — Whiteaker said they should check Island Park in downtown Fargo first.
